Original period manufacture. Reversible, red to yellow cotton band worn on German steel helmets prior to WWII during field maneuvers or war games. Adjusting buckle in the back, with three short attaching straps on the bottom edge, each with a metal hook to snap onto the helmet edge. Normal wear and use.
