Original period manufacture. A very clean, standard pattern HJ knife RZM (no motto)  marked on the reverse of the blade M7/31 which is the code alloted to the firm of August Merten Mw of Solingen-Grafrath. The blade retains its proper configuration and shows evidence of an old surface scrub on both sides of the blade, RZM marked on the reverse ricasso. Sound black plastic grips with an undamaged emblem, chrome finished guard and pommel. The scabbard is quite nice retaining nearly 100% of its original black painted finish. Very sound black leather belt loop and pommel strap. This RZM M7/31 HJ  Knife  was one of many souvenirs brought home to the US after the end of WWII by Corporal R.D.Easler, 3468th Ordnance Company, US Army.
