Original period manufacture. A clean example, remaining fairly complete. Typical of the HJ knives, in that as they were worn by children, they often present a hard-used condition...this one is in nice condition, except for the broken quillon.The blade retains its proper configuration, with the makers RZM code, M7/19(Ed Wusthof), found on the obverse ricasso, and the date of 1939. On the reverse of the blade the makers name and trident logo are stamped. The guard and pommel show wear to the plated finish, but again, no pitting to the surface. Sound black plastic grips with an intact HJ enameled emblem, showing some dark spots in the enamel .The steel scabbard matches the overall condition of the knife, with most of the black painted finish remaining on the front of the scabbard and on the reverse, pliable leather belt loop, missing it's securing strap.
