Original period manufacture.A well used example, yet remaining fairly complete. Typical of the HJknives, in that as they were worn by children, they often present a hard-used condition...this one is no exception.The blade retains its proper configuration, with the makers RZM code, M7/5, found on the reverse ricasso, representing the firm of Julius Krebs.On the obverse of the blade are deep scratch marks likely done to obliterate the"Blut un Ehre" motto. Otherwise the blade presents an even steel patina finish with normal staining, but without corrosion pitting.The guard and pommel showwear to the plated finish, but again, no pittingto the surface. Sound black plastic grips with an intact HJ enameled emblem.The steel scabbard matches the overall condition of the knife, with little of the black painted finish remaining on the front of the scabbard, yet a good deal remains on the reverse. Dented towards the tip, with the belt loop present, but missing the pommel strap.
