Original era manufacture. One of the souvenirs brought home from WWII by a US Army officer who served with the282nd Combat Engineers.I was puzzled at first as to what this was exactly, but after thinking about it, feel it is a band which slipped over the body of an HJ member wearing the athletic shirt, or perhaps warm-up suit, to indicate leader status.It measures 13.5 inches in width, of loosely woven cotton embroidered construction with stitching top and bottom. Black printed swastika on a white cotton diamond which is then machine sewn to the band. Normal age and wear.
