Original era manufacture. A very clean example of the WWII German Iron Cross 1st class. Maker marked 26 on the attaching pin, for production by B.H. Mayer. Magnetic center, with most of the plating remaining on the edge frame, and frosting on the ribbing. Most finish remains on the reverse, with some light wear to its edges. There is some light bubbling to the core finish, but nearly all remains intact.Very sound original case with its white imitation silk hinge cover in place, rectangular lock button, lid does not lock in position any longer.
