Original era manufacture. A very fine example of the classic WWII Iron Cross 1st Class. Magnetic center, which displays nearly all of its original finish, nice frosted finish to the reverse and a pleasing silver patina to the frame edges. There is some bubbling to the core finish in some of the corners, clear makers number 26 on the reverse, B.H.Mayer, Pforzheim. Late production case with a paper hinge, intact pad and lid lining which is LDO marked.
