Original era manufacture. Standard three pocket ammunition pouch of pebbled leather, with a black obverse, and undyed reverse. Maker marked and dated 1935, and Army unit marked under the central cover, 13.JR 11. II, (13th Company, Infantry Regiment 11, Second Battalion).The pouch is very sound, of stitched construction with aluminum fittings. Being a Russian capture pouch the rawhide dividers have been removed from the interior of each pouch. The 11th Infantry regiment formed part of the 9th Panzer Division, and served throughout WWII. It saw combat in Poland, the Low Countries in 1940, Operation Barbarossa in 1941, and combat in France in June of 1944.It remained on the Western Front till war's end, seeing combat in the Battle of the Bulge, attacking the Remagen Bridgehead until finally surrendering when trapped in the Ruhr Pocket.
