Original era manufacture. Matching numbers blade to scabbard of 4438e, and maker marked crs (Paul Weyersberg)and dated 44. none of the original finish remains on the unsharpened blade, basically graying and cleaned surface corrosion. The point remains quite sharp however. Dark red bakelite grips with a little scattered surface corrosion on the pommel and guard. The steel scabbard has a mix of blue and steel patina with very light surface corrosion, several small dents in the side near the frog. Perhaps the most interesting aspect regarding this bayonet is its dismounted pattern frog which appears to be dated 1935 and uses copper rivets. Sound, untouched original rig showing its age.
