Original era manufacture. Basically a standard German Wehrmacht service bayonet, satin blue finish overall, with dark plum bakelite grips and a 1940 dated frog showing a Leipzig makers name. The blade is not dated on the spine, nor does it show a makers name or code, only the serial number 5572 with the letters TR below. The pommel shows two waffenamt proofs, number WaA883. Most of the original finish remains on the blade ( I have removed the grease from the blade; much more attractive now), with a matching finish to the pommel. Sound, dent-free blue finished steel scabbard with a waffenamt code stamped into the reverse of the ball tip. Sound, black leather frog, with the upper two rivets being replaced. Makers name stamped into the reverse LERSELIUS LEIPZIG 1940. A very clean bayonet.
