Original era manufacture. Standard issue S84/98 bayonet and scabbard, Horster marked, 40 dated blade spine with a satin blue finish, tip rounded a bit. Pommel shows denting from being used as a hammer by some dolt of a soldier, which has resulted in the distortion of the slot opening and it will no longer fit a rifle. Dark plum bakelite grips in sound condition, mix of blue finish and steel patina to the guard and pommel with some light surface corrosion.Matt finished, Horster marked scabbard with a shallow dent on the reverse, throat screw is missing.
