Original era manufacture. This is a very clean example with an interesting set of markings. Both the blade and scabbard share the makers code asw (Horster) and year date of 43. The blade is serial numbered 1523 ss, and the scabbard throat 15201 ss, that's only 22 numbers off, with each piece displaying the same ss series code. Likely this error occurred at the factory and this set has been together for the past 68 years. The overall condition is near new, near 100% blue finish to all of the metal components with some oil staining to the blade near the tip. Nice wood grips which show storage handling and wear only. Interesting bayonet.
