Original era manufacture. An unusual bayonet in that it has a mid-to-late war finish, dark red bakelite grips, and a Weyersberg & Co Solingen logo on the ricasso, and on the other side a serial number. Yet there is no sign of a waffenamt stamp on the pommel, or on the unmarked, matching finish scabbard. The blade is very clean, showing a mix of steel patina and blue finish, with a spot of staining on each side of the blade near the tip.Damage free guard, pommel and flashguard, with no damage to the bakelite grips. The scabbard shows a matching finish to the rest of the bayonet, it is totally unmarked, with a mix of steel patina and blue, with some light speckling from old surface corrosion. The throat screw is in place.
