German WWII K98 Rifle Sling, Tab Maker Marked & Dated 1938

Original era manufacture. Standard leather K98 rifle sling which is complete with the stock tab and small leather loop. This is one of a number of WWII slings that we have received from our friend in Norway. The leather strap shows a checkered design on one side, rough-out leather on the other, it is very pliable and the stitching is sound. The steel adjusting buckle is not maker marked and the small leather pad under the buckle is missing. The stock tab also has a smooth finish and matches the sling in color and condition. On the underside of the sling strap a makers mark and date of 1938 can be seen. Light scuffing to the leather surface, quite sound for display.
