Original era manufacture. Gilded alloy badge with a pinback reverse, and an enameled design of the profile of the Cruiser Leipzig and date of 1934.The badge is maker marked on the reverse HB, and measures 21 x 34 mm. At first I thought this might be a launching badge for the Leipzig, but she was launched in 1929, and commissioned in 1931. Prior to going into drydock in late 1934, the Leipzig and Konigsberg made a goodwill visit to the UK, the first since the end of WWI. Perhaps this well made badge was a souvenir for the visitors during that visit.
