Original era manufacture. An early example of tombak with a nice patina to the obverse and a vertical pin attachment on the reverse. Little of the original finish remains to the badge however the deep rich patina is great. The reverse shows a very cool period repair to the catch and hinge pin. These repairs which were done so the sailor could still wear his issue badge, put some folks off, they certainly affects the price, but for me, the repairs add a very human element to the badge.
