Original period manufacture. A very clean example of the Reichskriegsflagge, as used by the Kriegsmarine and at other German military installations during WWII. Wool blend flag with a printed design, which measures roughly 5 x 8 feet. This is perhaps a late war, or occupied territory produced flag, as the normally seen, white canvas hoist was not part of the manufacturing process. Instead, a thin rope hoist, with a loop at one end was used. Further, the normally encountered stitch reinforcing on the sides and ends was not installed, the stitching that was done is limited to the end corners of the flag, and done in a rather haphazard manner. The flag itself is very clean, no major holes, stains or tears, with only a single mothbite on the cloth covering the rope hoist, and a few minor nicks in the edges of the flag.
