Original era manufacture. A near complete, three piece construction Luftschutz Gladiator steel helmet with its original decal as shown. It's overall appearance indicates long storage in a damp storage area, perhaps a subterranean bunker. I remember reading a newspaper article in the early 1970's about an underground bunker unearthed in Berlin during new construction. The article stated that hundreds of "Air Raid Warden" helmets were found store there. Perhaps this is one from similar storage. The liner adjusting string is still carefully tied to the rear center tongue of the leather liner, never undone and placed through the liner holes, never issued. Missing the long section of the chinstrap, otherwise complete.
