German WWII Luftschutz Gladiator Helmet, Bodenfund

Original era manufacture. A standard WWII three piece construction Luftschutz  steel helmet with its original decal as shown. It's overall appearance indicates long storage in a damp area, perhaps a subterranean bunker. I remember reading a newspaper article in the early 1970's about an underground bunker unearthed in Berlin during new construction. The article stated that hundreds of "Air Raid Warden" helmets were found stored there. Likely this is one from a similar storage environment. The liner and chinstrap have succumbed to the moisture, however the liner band and cork spacers remain intact. The decals remain strong and clearly visible. As my old friend Stevie would say regarding it's condition, "aus dem grabe!"
