Original era manufacture. This is a very interesting example of an early Luftschutz helmet based on the M1935 Wehrmacht pattern, made by the firm of Emaillerwerke AG, Fulda. The helmet itself is very clean, complete with it's original chinstrap and liner, with a person's name scratched into the leather. Decent paint, clear decal, for the most part, a typical example of it's type. What sets it apart are the clear flaws in it's manufacture which caused it to be tossed into the Luftschutz bin; double struck makers mark EF 64, and interestingly the left side ventilator has been welded over, completely obliterated, no doubt the fatal flaw. The crookedly applied Luftschutz decal adds only insult to injury to the poor thing. My apologies for going on here, I'm teasing really, in fact, I think it's little blems illustrate perfectly the reason for this pattern helmet to exist at all. Cool helmet.
