Original era manufacture. Zinc badge with a ball type hinge and narrow wire catch. Dark zinc patina finish to the obverse, the fun part, is that the badge has been stored in this original issue case for so long, that the silverfinish on the reverse has remained intact, and,the badgehas left a perfect shadow image of itself on the blue flocked pad. The late war case is of blue cardboard with gilt lettering on it's lid. Two of the lid corners have torn as has the cheap paper hinge. A great vintage look to this guy, really a cool one.
