Original era manufacture. Recently purchased from the son of a WWII RAF Pilot who brought this home with him from WWII. According to the son his father found this one in a pile of helmets recently removed from POW's at war's end. Standard pattern M1935 steel helmet, EF64 stamped into the neckskirt and the original soldiers name painted in white letters. Original-to-the-helmet leather liner with drawstring, supple original chinstrap with faint markings on the tip. On the inside of the liner is a unit stamp which reads See-Flg.H.Kdtr Heidermey (at least that is how we see it) telling us that this was a coastal defense unit of the Luftwaffe. Lots of satin blue finish on the shell exterior with intriguing traces of Ordnance tan paint in the recesses and around the bases of the rivet heads. Indicating that at one time this helmet saw service in a Tropical area. All in all, an untouched helmet right from the family of the Pilot who brought it home.
