Original era manufacture. A very clean example with its original leather liner and chinstrap, dome stamp inside the top. An interesting feature regarding this helmet is that the soldier removed the adjusting string and wrapped it around the rivet heads to provide a place for sticking leaves and other material for camouflage. He evidently used several pieces to accomplish this task as it is knotted on one side and split on another. Satin blue exterior finish with a very nice eagle decal. Although originally issued with a tri-color decal, it was overpainted (can be seen beneath the overpaint)to comply with the 1940 regulations.
