Original era manufacture. A very clean example of a WWII Luftwaffe M1942 steel helmet. Nearly all of the original paint finish remains, ET66 marked skirt, with a lot number of 2531. Original Luftwaffe decal as shown, with the tip of one wingtip missing. Size 58 marked leather liner with drawstring, all of the fingers are sound, with staining and normal wear to the surface. Matching color helmet rivets but without the slot washers.Intact and pliable, original black leather chinstrap, displaying surface dryness. With the helmet at the time of our purchase, is an original WWII GI capture certificate issued by HQ Battery, 101st Airborne Divisional Artillery. The certificate allows a Lieutenant to return home with a German helmet and bayonet. According to the fellow collector we purchased the helmet from, the certificate was with this helmet when he bought it.
