German WWII Luftwaffe Officers Sword, Horster Mfg, Aluminum Fittings

Original era manufacture. This is a really clean example of an aluminum mounted Luftwaffe officers sword. The leather on the scabbard and grip is near perfect, with taut wire binding. The hanger is sound with tight stitching and again, no issues to its surface, and as an extra bonus an original leather suspension loop and hook were on the sword when we purchased it. The polished steel blade measures 27inches in length, kinda short for one of these guys, but I guess short guys were in the Luftwaffe too. There are no nicks in the edges, it is straight with no pitting or staining, except for just a touch at the base of the blade. Horster logo on the obverse of the ricasso. Most of the gilding remains on the swastikas of the crossguard and pommel. The lower scabbard fitting is held in place by screws, the upper one appears to be pinned in place. Clean sword overall.
