Original era manufacture. A very clean example of an aluminum mounted Luftwaffe officers sword, produced by Weyersberg.  The leather on the scabbard displays scattered minor bumps and bruises with a half dollar size spot where the leather was expertly patched. This must have been done using the original leather from the scabbard as the color match is perfect. The grip is very clean, with taut twisted aluminum wire binding, with only light surface wear. The matching blue leather hanger is sound with tight stitching and again, no issues to its surfaceThere are a few small nail-catcher nicks in the edges of the 28 inch blade, running straight and true. The blade has a very clear makers logo with a Luftwaffe proof on the ricasso, with a very light frosting of cleaned surface corrosion, yet the blade remains in high polish, zero pitting. Thin leather bumper at the base of the blade. Overall a very nice looking sword.
