Original era manufacture. WWI M1918 steel helmet which was reissued during WWII. Double decal, with a very clear Heer pattern eagle, with the national shield being painted over according to regulations. An original M1931 leather liner and rivets with a complete WWII chinstrap. Rough texture feldgrau finish to the steel helmet, with most of the paint remaining. The liner has a brown finish to it, not waxy or oily, and not painted over, just dark. The rivets are correct, and each has it's slot washer in place, with the look of never having been moved. White, proper style adjusting string laced through the fingers of the liner, cut and knotted in two places. Very clean condition overall. Maker and size marked BF64.
