Original era manufacture. An early quality SA/NSKK enlisted dagger with a really poorly painted scabbard body in NSKK black. Nickel fittings throughout with the SA designation "No" (Nordsee) on the reverse of the lower guard fitting. The blade is clean, showing typical runner wear and lots of original cross grain polish remaining. The blade hasn't been polished in years. The revesre of the blade shows evidence of a removal of something, perhaps the Ernst Rohm presentation. Evidently the individual who did the removal took pride in his work as the makers trademark was removed as well. Sound wood grip with both emblems in place, no cracks or chips in the wood grip, just typical marring and denting. Pleasing patina to the nickel fittings with all fitting screws in place with a very lightly dented scabbard ball tip. The steel scabbard body is free of dents but is covered with a thick black paint which was slathered on. Maybe period done but who knows, it certainly would be a much more respectable piece with a properly restored finish. Still a decent example of an early production dagger.
