Original era manufacture. Early pattern dagger with nickel fittings and a lacquered, anodized finished scabbard. The blade is basically clean showing some crossgrain polish with scattered spotting from age staining and runner wear. The tip is sharp and the cutting edges are unsharpened. Nice Wilh.Welstersbach logo on the reverse ricasso. Nickel fittings throughout with an SA district mark of No. There are several thin surface cracks in the grip but no missing portions of the surface. Both emblems are intact. The anodized scabbard body shows good color with traces of lacquer remaining and scattered surface corrosion. One lower scabbard fitting screw is missing. A scarce maker SA dagger, needing a little tlc.
