Original period manufacture. Early production SA enlisted dagger, made by F.Herder A.S. Solingen. District marked on the crossguard OST for Ostland. Nickel fittings throughout, both the eagle and medallion remain in the wood grip. Clear motto on the blade, all scabbard screws are present, no real corrosion issues, just honest wear and use overall, and as an extra bonus a dent-free ball tip! The dagger exhibits a mellow patina to the surface, with all components matching one another in this respect. The scabbard body has a period repaint, more of an odd greenish-brown color, now part of the charm of this old dagger.
