Original era manufacture. A very solid dagger with a polished steel blade with a clear blade motto and makers mark, Gustav Wirth. Veteran bringback, purchased from the family. The blade exhibits cleaning, with portions of the original cross-grain polish remaining on the base of the blade on each side. Mellow patina finish to the upper and lower guard with both emblems in place, district marked on the lower guard Nm. Dark wooden grip displays some typical marring and bumping from handling over the years, with a few thin surface cracks on the top and bottom, no chipping, or missing wood. The steel scabbard body has a few shallow dents, with a brown finish. Scattered denting to the lower scabbard fitting, with the requisite dented ball tip. The dagger comes with a printed note from the daughter of the Veteran who brought the dagger home with him in 1945.
