Original era manufacture. Early quality dagger with nickel fittings, browned scabbard and a battered lower fitting ball. Christianswerk with Fork trademark are quite clear on the reverse ricasso. The blade is clean and bright, no corrosion problems, typical runner wear to the surface, with a good deal of cross grain polish visible. Nickel upper and lower guards, SA group mark Nrh (Neiderrhein). Alloy eagle and enameled SA disc above. Dark brown wood grip, displaying light wear and age, no cracks or chips. Browned, near dent-free steel body retaining most of it's original finish, with scattered corrosion freckling on both sides of the body. All fitting screws are present. Attached to the grip at the time of our purchase, is this very scarce three piece leather hanger. Overall a very nice looking, solid example, with loads of original patina. The nickel fittings have all toned from age and have not been cleaned in a long time. The freckling on the body is unattractive, but I have heard an immersion in Hoppes No. 9 gun cleaner can work wonders on surfaces like this.
