Original era manufacture. Early quality dagger with a maker marked blade, brown anodized scabbard and nickel fittings. The reverse side ricasso shows the makers name of Otto Simon, Steinbach, a non Solingen location. The dagger is complete with an original leather hanger with snap hook. The blade motto retains most of its contrast and the handle is free of chips or cracks. The blade shows a fair amount of original cross graining but it appears that it was lightly sharpened at one point and then in-expertly buffed. There is a line of corrosion on both sides of the blade near the tip. There is some surface rust on the scabbard body but good color remains beneath. All of the fitting screws are present and the scabbard ball is dent free. A sound example for the money.
