Original era manufacture. A transistion model with nickel fittings and a black paintes scabbard. The blade is clean, good motto contrast and a clear A.Shuttelhofer Solingen-Wald trademark on the ricasso. The blade shows some original crossgrain polish with some scratching along the edges and runner wear. Both grip emblems are in place, with a small chip in the wood on the obverse side above the lower guard and another larger chip on the reverse. The scabbard displays its original paint with typical scratching to its surface and a shallow dent on the obverse side. Perhaps the most interesting feature regarding this dagger is the homemade leather vertical hanger which has been mounted to the scabbard from day one. The leather hanger is nicely done and serves its purpose well. All in all a solid example in as worn condition.
