Original era manufacture. An honest old helmet with a period dark green overpaint, with the original eagle decal as shown, the tri-color decal can be seen lurking beneath the paint as well. All three early pattern original rivets are in place with their respective slot washers. Three of the liner fingers have torn through, the original adjusting string remains in place. Cut into the side of the lining is the word "ITALY", perhaps done by the GI who sent it home from WWII. A partial original chinstrap comes with the hemet, most of the long strap remains along with the adjusting buckle which is still buckled in place.
