Original era manufacture. Luftwaffe issue M1940 steel helmet which is maker and size marked on the neckskirt, EF64. Original paint interior, original leather liner with drawstring, and an original leather chinstrap. All of the proper rivets with slot washers are in place, none of the leather liner fingers have pulled through, and while the chinstrap is dry, it is not broken.At some point in its history, this otherwise honest WWII relic, has had a postwar tan camouflage paint applied to its exterior with areas of dirt added to the mix for added realism (sarcasm here). Perhaps a venturesome soul will attempt a restoration, as its a pretty solid old helmet otherwise.
