Original era manufacture. An unmolested example of the WWII Heer pattern M1942 steel helmet. This one looks as if it has spent a good deal of time in an old Arizona shed, as the leather liner is completely gone, yet the original leather chinstrap, while dried out, is still securely fastened across the helmet visor. Inside the liner band is securely attached with three original rivets and slot washers, never removed, or bothered in my opinion. The exterior of the helmet has never been cleaned in any way, retaining most of the dark feldgrau paint finish, with a strong original decal as shown. I would never do a thing to this helmet in any attempt to improve it. It is as honest as the day is long.
