German WWII, M42 Steel Helmet with Partial Liner

Original era manufacture. Original paint finish German M1942 steel helmet, maker stampe EF66, with a lot number of either 0889, or 0839. The leather liner exhibits a considerable amount of mouse nibbling to the tabs and sides. All three original rivets with slot washers are in place. On the right side of the helmet are traces of an SS decal, the runes of which are very difficult to see, but they are there. Whether or not this is an original decal is a matter of debate. As far as we are concerned, it does not factor into the price, merely a feature of curiosity. The other features; paint finish, liner and rivets are all original WWII German manufacture.
