Original era manufacture. A good quality, private purchase Marching Compass in aluminum with a bakelite base and cover. Dial still points North, letter O designates Ost (East), original neckcord intact. Only flaw is that a small square of bakelite is missing from the front edge of the case, preventing the top from locking down.
