Original era manufacture. Prewar quality manufacture with a satin blue finish to the blade surface, unsharpened edge and sharp tip. Dark plum bakelite grips showing normal wear, no cracks or chips. The pommel and scabbard surface show a mix of blue and steel patina, with the scabbard body showing a few shallow dents. The mounted pattern leather frog is sound enough for display with some loose threads in the body and dry rot in evidence in the pommel strap.
