Original era manufacture. A very stout, metal line munitions box, which was used by an American GI to mail home his souvenirs from WWII.Dovetail construction, measuring  19.5 x 14 x 7 inches, with a metal lined bottom and two spring loaded locking clasps. Original German labels on the inside of the lid, and another on the right side of the box. Two folding metal carrying handles, one on each end.GI's shipping address on the bottom of the box, with several US postage stamps applied to the lid. Normal age and wear, a heavy, well made box.
