Original era manufacture. Metal suitcase type transport box for ammunition for the Granatenwerfer 36, 5cm Mortar. The can without the handle measures 14 x 11 x 4 inches with a folding steel wire lock and wood carrying grip. The internals are missing, but original stenciling can still be seen on one side of the can. No evidence of metal rot, overall the transport can is quite solid.
