Original era manufacture. Civil Police shako, perhaps a private purchase for a Police NCO, as the interior of the helmet displays an officers pattern liner drape.Police green wool covered fibre body, with two screen ventilators on each side. Bright aluminum eagle at front with polished highlights, with a removable field badge above. There are two, small moth bites in the cloth, each measuring only a few millimeters in width. The removable black leather chinstrap is very sound, bright aluminum attachment fittings. Light amount of surface crazing to the top of the shako from age, no cracks or chips. The interior displays a tan cloth, pickelhaube like officers drape, with a leather sweatband with scalloped edge. Opening up the cloth drape reveals the Erel makers mark.  5 3/4 inches tall.
