Original era manufacture. An early production bayonet maker marked S/174 G (WKC, G=1935 date) and a three digit serial number. Most of the original satin blue finish remains on the blade surface, black painted guard and pommel with a Kriegsmarine issue number O (Ostsee or Baltic Fleet) 10095 on the guard. Dark wood grips showing normal age and wear. Very nice 1934 dated brown leather frog with issue markings on its reverse. The frog is interesting in that it was made with cut-outs for the pommel strap but it was never installed. Sound blue finish scabbard, however it displays a rather deep crease across both sides of its surface. The blade draws easily in spite of the crease.
