Original era manufacture. A very striking helmet, derived from a helmet pattern used by German aviators during WWI.Black gloss finish to the leather body, with a thickly padded comb and rim. Large format, first pattern eagle of alloy with a black painted swastika and no NSKK lettering.Overall the helmet appears to be unused, with zero staining to the leather lining and top pad, size marked 56. The pigskin leather flaps remain pliable, and the attaching buckles are intact. I very carefully pulled down the lining to have a peek, no RZM tag, looks to have never had one. Only minor issues are a few areas of bug or mouse nibbling on the leather .This helmet will come with the cardboard storage box the Veteran stored the helmet in for many years. This item represents one of the WWII German souvenirs brought home from WWII by a local Arizona veteran. Unfortunately our seller was not able to provide details regarding the gentleman's service. However he did keep the box which held the items in the Veterans home for many years. This box will be included with the helmet.
