Original era manufacture. A nice little precision instrument in its original metal carrying case. My apologies for not properly identifying it, but feel it is part of the aiming apparatus of a light mortar.When viewing through the 2.75 inch optical tube, you see and illuminated white cross on a black field.The device is in near new condition, with a black crackle finish, and a mounting collar for a tripod.Dark Ordnance Green painted carrying can with a gray canvas belt loop, and very clear white stenciling on the lid.
