Original WWII Issue. A pair of award documents to the same soldier Obergefreiter Horst Kuhn. His 1942 dated document for the Tank Assault Badge in silver, when serving with Tank Regiment 204, and a Black Wound badge document dated 16 January 1944 (back dated to July 1942) when serving with Heavy Tank Battalion 509. Schweres Panzer Abteilung 509 was armed with Tiger I's, and at the time of the issue of Kuhn's award issue, had just fought in the second battle of Kiev. Later in the war the 509th were issued Tiger II's (Konigstiger) and fought in the attempted relief of Budapest in 1945. The remnants of the 509th surrendered to the US Army near Linz Austria in May of 1945.
