Original era manufacture. This is an interesting sepia image of the cruiser Karlsruhe as shetravels on the North Sea Canal. The reverse is postally used, and the card itself seemingly produced by the shipbuilding company, Deutsche Werke, Kiel,that built Karlsruhe. During WWII,Karlsruhe provided transport for troops during the invasion of Norway, only to be hit with two torpedoeslaunched from British aircraft on her return to Germany. Unable to regain power, and unable to stop the flooding she was scuttled by aGerman torpedo boat.
