Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 33.5 inches in length with the Puma logo on the reverse ricasso. The blade is clean, no nicks, but has some staining which I believe may be from old cosmoline. Hard black rubber grip with a silver washed police eagle set into the grip body, bound with single strand wire. Chrome finished guard and pommelshowing some very light staining and scratching from age and use. I feel most of this could be made to go away with a light cleaning. Original army officers sword know wrapped around the guard and grip, this is the way it came to us. Dent free black painted steel scabbard retaining nearly all of its original finish. All fitting screws are present with no real issues to report. We did not attempt to clean this sword with the exception of the blade where we wanted to see whatwas causing the staining. This sword was one of many souvenirs brought home to the US after the end of WWII by Corporal R.D.Easler, 3468th Ordnance Company, US Army.
