Original era manufacture. Standard WWII pattern S85/98 bayonet with a few marking features which are unique to Portuguese contract bayonets. Unmarked, satin blue finished blade, showing finish wear near the tip. It has not been sharpened, and no corrosion pitting. Original wood grips, showing typical bumping and dings from service use. Mix of blue and steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. On one side of the pommel is a horizontal serial number C 4807, and just above the locking bar two waffenamt proofs, WaA253, assigned to the edged weapon firm of Alexander Coppel, in 1937-40.Comes with a well used Horster (42asw) marked steel scabbard, showing scattered corrosion pitting but remaining relatively dent free.
